What is Living Cuisine?

Microgreens, sprouts, ferments, the kale you harvested from the vegetable plot or that dandelion that you plucked from the lawn are true living food literally popping with life force. Fresh shop bought produce is still nutrient rich but a shorter harvest to table time delivers significantly more nutrients.


Raw foods are strictly speaking those that have not been heated over 118f. This leaves the plant hormones, oxygen, phytonutrients and enzymes intact and alive. Heat destroys the potency of the majority of nutrients and denatures proteins.
 

In any raw kitchen you will find a dehydrator which is essentially a low temperature oven which gently air dries food leaving the nutrients active. Dehydrated foods are the raw foodies convenience food. Air dried food such as breads, biscuits, crackers, cookies and granolas with a crispy, crunchy or chewy texture  can remain fresh for weeks or months. A dehydrator can also give fruit and vegetables a soft 'cooked' mouth feel and can be used to warm sauces and soups.  All the foods and textures you love can all be replicated in a raw kitchen.

The four elements needed to live a High Vibrational life

H: Plant hormones play an active role in the growth and development of plants. Recent studies have shown that plant hormones work in mammalian systems and have the power to resist and fight chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
 

O: Oxygen is vital for sustaining life. Oxygen is found in air, water and living foods and is a vital element in energy production. The aroma you smell when food is cooking is the oxygen being destroyed.
 

P: Phytonutrients/Phytochemicals. These outstandingly powerful nutrients are found in raw living foods and most are destroyed by cooking. Microgreens and sprouts are extremely high in these vital nutrients. Sulphoraphane found in broccoli and cabbage microgreens has been shown to be an efficient anti-cancer ally.
 

E: Enzymes are the workers of the body. Every function of your body is powered by enzyme activity. Enzymes are responsible for the breakdown of proteins, fats and carbohydrates into simple amino acids adding absorption and digestion. Enzymes are a protein and they are denatured by heat.
